Bike Shares: The Future of Navigating NYC?

Bike Shares. Perhaps you’ve seen them? The most common one’s in NYC are the Citi Bikes, which can be seen all over Manhattan and in parts of Brooklyn as well. In fact, according to The Brooklyn Eagle, about 14 million rides were taken on Citi Bikes in 2016 alone! And while Citi Bike is enormously popular, it only extends so far into the 5 boroughs. Unless you’re in Manhattan, you probably don’t have access to a Citi Bike dock.

One way around this is the innovative dockless bike system. Various companies have come forward attempting to implement this new idea. With dockless biking, you would just have to look at an app to see where an available bike might be parked, then you could ride it anywhere and leave it wherever you needed to. The New York City Department of Transportation is currently looking in to how this could work in New York, as some unintended consequences have been seen in other cities that have tried dockless biking.

One thing we can all agree on, is that more people riding bikes means less people riding the subway and driving. And that means areas with expanded bike sharing programs could see parking congestion go down as well. And I think we’d all love to see that.

If you haven’t switched over to riding a bike, you might end up with a pesky parking ticket and that’s where Ticket Wiper comes in to help. Just download the app below and scan for your ticket in the NYC Database. Then we will fight the ticket for you, and if we win, you only pay 50% of the ticket. Otherwise you don’t pay us a dime. Bike Lanes Coming to 4th Ave Sunset Park

Construction for a new bike lane in Sunset Park is scheduled to start this Spring. Largely in response to a massive increase in the number of people in Brooklyn who use bikes to commute to work, the Department of Transportation is working to make the roads safer for cyclists. While we are happy to share the road and support making our city a safer place for everyone, the downside is that, according to Bklyner, 4th Ave will lose approximately 225 parking spots between 8th st and 64th st. And we all know what less parking spaces means. Also, changing the roads to include bike lanes will require some construction, which in the short term will make parking in Sunset Park even more difficult. Less parking means a better chance you end up with a parking ticket and unnecessary headache. And that’s where we come in.

So if you do end up with a pesky ticket, let us help. Just download the app below and scan for your ticket in the NYC Database. Then we will fight the ticket for you, and if we win, you only pay 50% of the ticket. Otherwise you don’t pay us a dime. Try it out today!
