Imagine you’ve got to run an errand and can’t find parking. It’s only going to take a few minutes, so you park (or stand) in front of a No Standing sign and send your passenger out to run the errand down the street. Surely the police can’t give you a ticket, right?
WRONG! Officers are willing and able to walk right up to you in your car, parking ticket in hand. (Remember, if you are sitting in the driver seat with the car running, the officer has to write your name on the ticket and give it to you, or it’s not valid.) It’s important to understand the different signs and how they impact where you can go with your vehicle and also what you can do with it.
